After nine years at he helm of Hills as Managing Director and almost 30 years working for the company, Peter Churchill retired in May. He was a well respected figure in the construction industry in Devon and Cornwall and we wish him well in his retirement. Peter was always keen to strengthen Hills' position as a regional quantity surveying practice and was responsible for acquiring both A Edwin Bryant & Associates in Cornwall and HartQS in Torquay. Both of these acquisitions have helped to widen Hills' service to clients and the industry in general.

The role of Managing Director has passed to Philip Rumbelow who will be the third member of his family to hold that position. His grandfather was senior partner in the old WT Hills & Co. from 1947 to 1972 and his father was Managing Director when Hills became a limited company in 1989 until his retirement in 2000. Phil joined Hills in 1987 and has been a Director since 2003. He is supported by a Board which comprises Paul Sowden in Croyden office, Andrew Hill in Milton Keynes office and Geoff Hanna and Gary Pope in the Exeter Office. Gary and Geoff became Directors on 1st August this year bringing a variety of experience to the Board. In addition to these changes and in order to further strengthen our South West management, Ross and Ben Harrison have been appointed as Associate Directors.
