    Philip joined Hills in 1987 and was appointed director in 2003.  He has built up extensive quantity surveying and project management experience in most types of construction projects, with particular emphasis in the education, health, private housing, leisure, and the public sectors.

    Philip is responsible for the management of project teams within the Southern region in addition to undertaking the role of Managing Director for the Company.

  • Gary Pope

    Gary joined Hills in 1998 and was appointed director in 2015. 

    Gary has gained experience of both public and private sector construction projects with particular emphasis on social housing.  Gary is responsible for the management of the team of surveyors in our Penzance office.

  • Pete Lightfoot

    Pete joined Hills in 2006 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Milton Keynes office.  Pete graduated from University College, Northampton with an BSc honours degree in Construction, Economics and Management and a year later completed his diploma in Quantity Surveying at the College of Estate Management, Reading. 

    Pete now manages our Milton Keynes office and has gained a wealth of experience in the retail, health, office conversions and refurbishments, and private housing sectors.  He also specialises in Project Management, Bank Monitoring and is a Party Wall Surveyor.

  • Geoff Hanna

    Accredited Mediator

    Geoff joined Hills in 1994 and retired in March 2025.  He now is employed as a consultant to the company in relation to Dispute Resolution and Party Wall services within the practice.

    Geoff has extensive experience of public and private sector construction projects, both new build and refurbishment.  His wide project experience ensures that he is able to bring a wealth of practical knowledge to every scheme.  In addition he is able to draw on this experience and knowledge in providing Expert Witness reports and assisting parties to resolve their disputes whether through mediation, adjudication or arbitration.

    Geoff is a past Chairman of the Western Counties Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
