In another Northern Ireland project, Hills are providing Project Management, Quantity Surveying and CDM Coordinator services to The Royal British Legion for the refurbishment of Bennet House in Portrush.
The £2m project for the complete upgrade of facilities will start on site at the end of May 2010 and is expected to take 48 weeks. F B McKee is the appointed contractor under a JCT 'with quantities' contract.
Bennet House is a Poppy Break Centre which is exclusively for use by Service and ex-Service personnel. The aim is to provide a comfortable and enjoyable break away from the stresses and strains of daily life. In order to continue providing this valuable service during the works, the Legion has found temporary facilities in Portrush.
This is the first major capital project undertaken by Hills for The Royal British Legion. The next one that will shortly start on site is a 30-bed dementia care unit at Galanos House in Warwickshire.
