Agri-Business Centre, Holsworthy

Hills acted as Employer's Agent and Quantity Surveyor for Torridge District Council during the construction of a new livestock market which was handed over to Kivells, the auctioneers, the main users of the market.

In addition to facilities for the buying and selling of livestock there are offices and kiosks for other market businesses, such as agricultural machinery suppliers, various trade stand,  banks, NFU and a café/restaurant.

As well as the usual livestock market pens and rings for cattle and sheep the new building boasts a fully operational four-cow dairy, harvests its own water from rainwater collection and a borehole as well as treating all livestock sewage on site.

Hills carried out a considerable amount of value engineering on the project to ensure that all the facilities could be provided within the funding available.
